Golf Rules & Policies

To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful golf experience for all members and guests, The Shore Club maintains the following policies:

Course Etiquette

  • All players must check in with the Golf Shop before teeing off.
  • Start on Hole #1 unless given permission otherwise.
  • Rangers and staff may patrol the course, please follow their instructions.
  • Each player must use their own clubs; rentals are available if needed.
  • Be courteous, know the basic rules, respect fellow players, and keep noise to a minimum.
  • Maintain course conditions: repair ball marks, rake bunkers, fill divots, and follow daily cart rules.

Dress Code

On the Golf Course & Practice Areas:

  • Proper golf attire is required at all times.
  • Collared or mock neck shirts (tucked in), appropriate shorts or pants, and golf footwear are expected.
  • No denim, cargo shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, or swimwear.
  • Women's sleeveless shirts must have a collar.

In the Clubhouse & Patio:

  • Casual attire is acceptable; denim is permitted if neat and untorn.
  • Men must remove hats indoors and wear collared shirts.
  • No t-shirts, tank tops, cut-off shorts, bathing suits, or workout gear.
  • Juniors should wear golf or clean, casual clothing.

Practice Range

  • Practice range should be used for members and guests only.
  • Practice only from designated areas.
  • Limit warm-up time when others are waiting.

Pace of Play

  • The expected pace is 3 hours and 54 minutes (approx. 13 minutes per hole).
  • Keep up with the group ahead not just ahead of the group behind.
  • If you’re holding up play with a clear hole ahead, allow faster groups to play through.
  • Play “Ready Golf,” and delay scoring until the next tee.
